Felicia Bertch, BFA Performance Head and Assistant Professor of Instruction, just made her final bow as Veta in Harvey at WaterTower Theatre earlier in February. Coming up you can see her in Church and State at Stage West. And then Marie Antoinette at Amphibian Stage Productions, directed by UTA Theatre Arts Adjunct Professor Jay Duffer. Felicia was also recently made a Regional Coordinator with StateraArts, a national mentorship program for individuals in the professional theatre arts.
Lizz Bashore, Adjunct Professor, has just finished choreographing Seussical on the Mainstage at Artisan. While creating the Musical Theater Track at the Dallas Conservatory she will continue with choreographing Seussical Jr, directing A Midsummer Night’s Dream at KD Conservatory in the spring and later direct and choreographing Peter Pan. Currently she is choreographing for SWEAT BOX and producing a devised film piece, a curated laboratory project based around actors experiences. Think A CHORUS LINE: film style.
Dr. Anne Healy, Associate Professor and Associate Chair will be directing a staged reading of a new Theatre for Young Audiences musical by the Canadian musical theatre team Gontier and Baird. In April/May and August, Dr. Healy will be traveling to Massachusetts to direct two musicals at the Priscilla Beach Theatre. Also in May, Dr. Healy will return to Paris as a musical theatre teaching artist with American Musical Theatre Live Paris.
Amanda Jackson, Artistic Director of Maverick Dance Company, will be presenting research at the Luther College Movement Fundamentals Coalescence in Decorah, Iowa July 2020. Her collaborative research with Big Rig Dance Collective, titled You Are Not My Enemy, was a multi-generational, mixed ability community project funded in part by the Greater Denton Arts Council and Texas Commission on the Arts.
