Laurie teaches costume design & technology and makeup at UTA.  She also serves as costume and makeup designer for The Maverick Theatre Company and lighting designer for The Maverick Dance Company.  She received her MFA in Theatrical Design with emphasis in Costume Design from the University of Memphis.  In addition to her work at UTA, Laurie is a free-lance costume designer and makeup artist in Dallas.  Her work has been seen at various regional theatres including: The Dallas Children’s Theater (Mainstage Series, Teen Series and National Tours), Shakespeare Dallas, WaterTower Theatre, Pegasus Theatre, where she designs the “Red Dress” for their Living Black and White Series (since 2012) and most recently ALL THE GREAT BOOKS, ABRIDGED AND TALES OF A FOURTH GRADE NOTHING (National School Tour) at the Hangar Theatre, co-lighting design for VOICES OF THE SOUTH’S CICADA.
