Meredith Knight Treminio teaches, choreographs, performs, writes, and designs but considers herself to be first a learner and explorer. A founding member and long-time collaborator with Big Rig Dance Collective, she is interested in opening minds through artistic collaborations, multimedia investigations, and a little bit of humor. Meredith is in her fourth year as a faculty member in the Department of Theatre Arts and as the Associate Artistic Director of Maverick Dance Company. In addition to her work at UTA, she is a dance instructor at the esteemed Dallas Ballet Center. At DBC, she choreographs for the Dallas Ballet Company, and participates in their annual Nutcracker production as a performer and choreographer. Meredith holds her M.F.A. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University where she was presented with the Pauline Bishop Leman Memorial Award & Scholarship (2009) and the Outstanding Graduate Student Award (2012). She continues to perform at local and regional festivals and as a guest at select colleges and universities.
